Hey all, my name is Kelly. aka KelsBels and also "LilyWyn Sky" (forest elf character). I am a total newbie. I am very shy at first... but once I get comfortable I get more relaxed. Don;t really know what to say... just glad to have a new hobby & hoping to play a few times a year. Unfortuntely I work most of all weekends. So just getting away every few months for a weekend trip would be great. As long as work is willing to give me a break. and blah-blah blahImage

Hi Kelly! I am Ryan. Welcome to the Realms of Conflict LARP community. You're costume looks awesome!

I suppose there's a few things to say to help a new player at this point. First, there are 2 chapters of this game which exist at different places in the same world. You may play the same character in either chapter, having them travel from continent to continent between games, though a lot of people choose to make 2 different character's for story reasons. I personally play the same character at both chapters now.

The first chapter is the one which utilizes this forum, aka the 'Prime' or 'South Bay' chapter. They are currently setting their story on the undead ruled empire called 'Allure'. In this chapter, the players are dealing with the horror and mystery of a place long lost to an unknown calamity. PCs investigate powerful and mysterious forces, battle feral creatures and tortured souls, all while trying to appease the undead nobles who allow them to investigate this troubled place. They tend to run game in the south bay area, running a few day games in the redwood city area and weekend games in boulder creek.

The other chapter is the 'East Bay' chapter. In this setting, an island which had been left unclaimed by any other nation is being colonized by the Nation of Talar. They have been making promises of rich natural resources and unlimited opportunities to attract adventurers and settlers to assist in their colonization efforts. What they haven't been advertising is the aggression of the wildlife, the strange instabilities in the magic, or worst, the native people who are already living there. What else don't they know? Or are they just not telling? This chapter of the game runs more single day games, usually in Berkeley, but they also run weekend games in the Boulder creek area.

Anyways, Sorry the forums are pretty dead. They usually just get used for rules debate and RSVP. They liven up a bit closer to a weekend game. Strangely, the other chapter of the game, which runs mostly day games in Berkeley, has it's own forum. http://roceastbay.freeforums.org/index.php. You can get information about either chapters of the game on the same RoC Facebook group.

Hope to see you at game! Feel free to post any questions about the rules or character creation on either forums or on the facebook group. A lot of us love talking about rules, story ideas, or costuming, so don't hesitate to ask about anything.
